Transfer Support

The Oregon TRIO Association’s Transfer Support Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students transferring from a Oregon Community College to a 4-year institution.  Amounts awarded will be $2,500.

 

Awarded funds will be sent to your transfer institution’s financial aid office for disbursement for 2025 fall term. Students will need to submit a student ID number for the transfer institution to OTA prior to funding.

Who Can Apply

  • Each TRIO grant at a community college in Oregon can make up to 5 recommendations per year.
  • Student GPA Minimum: 2.50

Application Requirements

Submit the TRIO Checklist (Transfer-Support-Checklist-25) demonstrating support from your TRIO program. 

  • This form will be completed by your TRIO advisor and submitted with your other application materials.

Complete three essay statements (200-500 words each)

  • What impact has TRIO made in your educational journey up to this point? (Examples, What educational impact did TRIO have on your journey. What elements of your TRIO program have you engaged with? Highlight all the TRIO programs you have participated in.)
  • What are the financial challenges you are facing to transfer? (Examples, highlight your pell usage and student loan usage. If you have not utilized these, please indicate why. What outstanding costs do you have separate from school costs, What financial resources do you have (or don’t) to help complete your bachelors degree)
  • What do you hope to accomplish at your transfer institution, and how do you believe your unique background and experiences will contribute to your success in achieving your goals?
